Over the past year, more and more of us have discovered a new love for the outdoors and even realised we’re actually quite green-fingered. To help us continue nurturing our appreciation of the outdoors, Selfridges has today opened its brand new Garden Centre on Oxford Street.
But folks, this is not the type of garden centre your parents go to on the weekend. Selfridges’ Garden Centre is full of surprises, from an exclusive Prada collection, to its own merch featuring gardening puns such as Herb Your Enthusiasm…LOL. It’s all overseen by Selfridges’ very own avant-gardener, the diminutive but swaggy Gary the Gnome!
Within the Garden Centre, you’ll find The Potting Shed, a destination for events and advice, with a resident gardener (plus a virtual “dial-a-gardener” service) and a programme of workshops and experiences around the joy of gardening.
All part of its Good Nature theme, the Selfridges Garden Centre sells everything you need for your gardening pleasure including tools, seeds, plants, pots and even Selfridges own label ‘yellow gnome’ compost.
If you’ve been down to the store today you’ll also see Selfridges’ greenery has branched out onto Oxford Street itself, with new planters containing a mini urban meadow of plants and wildflowers.
Let’s get growing…
