The hotel is in reasonable condition as at time of writing, a refurbishment must have taken place in the not too distant past. The bed obviously was not old and was of good quality providing good support to someone who has a history of back problems. However I would question the value for money given other aspects of the room. I had managed to secure a superior double but it was not particularly big. Luckily I was by myself but two people in the room and you'd potentially be bumping into each other or finding it difficult to pass each other. Secondly, it was an inward facing room overlooking one of those grotty contained courtyards where you can only see the windows of other rooms, or you could if the windows weren't masked so you can't see out except for the uppermost panes! The lift system does not work well either as on one side it's an old fashioned button and on the other is new system with a touch screen. It's not immediately apparent which system is responsible for which lifts.
The breakfast was good but not remarkable.
I would stay there again but it wouldn't be my first hotel of choice.
Well located. Breakfast is chaotic and very busy. Rooms small but nicely furnished, heating didn't work in mine but was offered new room or radiators. Staff are really friendly. Very close to underground
Staff have a n eye for detail. Well maintained, they are doing outside renovation. But one of best hotels in London. Great location
Amazing location in Oxford street opposite of the marble arch ....the hotel entrance is under construction but not disturbing at all (Dec 2018).
The hotel levels from inside is like a maze ...good for kids to find the room ... I enjoyed it:)
Good breakfast variety, clean and fast check in and check out.
The best part the friendly and supportive staff in all the sections.

To be fair, they are undergoing remodeling to become a Hard Rock hotel. However, as it is, the entire lobby smells like cigarettes, the elevators are the slowest I have ever seen, and the staff is moderately grumpy at best. There is only one entrance to the hotel and now stairs to other floors from the lobby so everyone is forced to use the single bank of elevators to access the entire building. Many guests were seen leaving trash in the hallways, which contributes to a junky look. The location allows easy access to the tube, etc. but doesn't make up for the downsides.
