Very good Hotel with perfect location. Room was big and cozy and hotel staff was highly professional. I had a high fever on our last day and flexible hotel manager let us stay in our room couple extra hours. We paid of course... Sorry to hear that legendary Cumberland is closing... But we'll be back in Hard Rock Hotel.

The hotel is in reasonable condition as at time of writing, a refurbishment must have taken place in the not too distant past. The bed obviously was not old and was of good quality providing good support to someone who has a history of back problems. However I would question the value for money given other aspects of the room. I had managed to secure a superior double but it was not particularly big. Luckily I was by myself but two people in the room and you'd potentially be bumping into each other or finding it difficult to pass each other. Secondly, it was an inward facing room overlooking one of those grotty contained courtyards where you can only see the windows of other rooms, or you could if the windows weren't masked so you can't see out except for the uppermost panes! The lift system does not work well either as on one side it's an old fashioned button and on the other is new system with a touch screen. It's not immediately apparent which system is responsible for which lifts.
The breakfast was good but not remarkable.

I would stay there again but it wouldn't be my first hotel of choice.

Well located. Breakfast is chaotic and very busy. Rooms small but nicely furnished, heating didn't work in mine but was offered new room or radiators. Staff are really friendly. Very close to underground

We arrived with high expectations. The first room we were given was supposedly an ‘upgrade’ this is because the hotel is a building site. The room came as a twin, the phone was broken and the bath was black with dirt. We moved room four times before getting a tiny room that had a bed and a shower clean enough to use. It was 00:30 by the time it was all sorted. Would avoid this hotel as they don’t value honest customers. It was an anniversary which was ruined, the lifts also took around 20 minutes to come to whichever floor you were on. Only benefit was the speed of checkout so we could leave.
