Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms celebrates that quintessential British time-honoured tradition of afternoon tea. Tucked away just off Oxford Street, you'll find a cosy little retreat serving the very best in Great British afternoon tea, whatever the time. Let Scoff & Banter take you on a journey from the savoury to the sweet, to the fabulous and the great. With a few little surprises along the way. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill experience, the Tea Rooms menu comprises 4 sections and caters for every taste and appetite. Starting with a choice of 2 hot dishes, why not try the spiced scallops and Oysters Rockerfeller? Followed by Seville orange and Valrhona chocolate scones? Next up, try a croque-madame and smoked salmon bagel. For the finale, sample the sweet strawberry tart and dark chocolate creme Chantilly.
It's not the best afternoon tea in London but definitely best value for money. Unlike traditional afternoon tea available everywhere, the idea of serving two hot dishes followed by two finger sandwiches, two different flavors of scones and finally two desserts all chosen from the diversified and innovative menu by guests themselves is absolutely a plus. Hot dishes were delicious and so were the croque madame and orange scones accompanied by strawberry vanilla jam. However, there was hardly any pure herbal tea available. There was a vast selection of black, green and white tea with a herbal touch. You normally would have expected more from a "tea room". Service was very good. Our server Henrietta was friendly and helpful.
We went to Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms with my colleagues and we had a really good experience. The service was great, our waiter was Csaba, he did his best to make us feel welcome and looked after. The food was great as well, a lot of options to choose from. One of my colleagues had a birthday so she was surprised with a complimentary glass of champagne, a piece of cake and a rose, that was really nice treat for her special occasion. Highly recommend place! All the best!
Location easy to get to by tube and bus as it's on Oxford Street. Next door to Debenhams. Entry via hotel lobby and access via lift or stairs to first floor. The tables are laid out beautifully. The China is just gorgeous! This is afternoon tea with a difference you get a menu and choose 2 items from each of the sections. The starters we had were hot and so tasty. They are followed by the more traditional scones, sandwiches and deserts. All very fresh. There is an extensive choice of teas and we had a bottle of presecco as part of our package. The service was very good - attentive but not intrusive. We felt that the cost was reasonable for all that was included in the package. I have attached some photos of our food choices. More available on the menu. Dietary requirements were also taken care of.We felt this is a special afternoon tea and will add to our list for a revisit. Thanks
Really great! My friend and I enjoyed our trip here - the service was amazing - very attentive and the tea range is large - they even had Chai tea and provided us with Honey when we requested which was lovely. Really nothing I could complain about at all - it was part of my birthday celebration and I had three different waiters shake my hand and congratulate me and one even brought me a rose - very kind and thoughtful. We sat and chatted for a long time and there was nobody trying to move us on. Lovely! Would visit again!
Lovely place but that was the best thing about the tea, although the first, hot dishes were nice. Sandwiches a bit dry and bagel hard, scones tiny and tasteless and the strawberry jam was very liquidy. Not enough cream for the amount of scones. Service was about the slowest I’ve ever experienced anywhere taking about half and hour for us to even receive a
Cup of tea - overall very expensive for what we we had
