Not into new year resolutions? No problem, they’re overrated. However, there’s never any harm in taking extra care of yourself, all year round. Whether that means a bit of pampering, motivational exercise, plant-based dining or more fresh air, we’ve got you covered.
Good sportswear and free workouts
If one of your goals for 2026 is to ramp up your exercise regime or simply be more active, there are plenty of stores on Oxford Street that you can pick up some high-quality performance gear from. The likes of adidas, Asics, Footlocker, Sports Direct, New Balance, JD Sports, Under Armour and the NBA Store will have you kitted out in everything from joggers, trainers to sports bras and gym equipment, whether you are into running, skiing, yoga, football, the gym or virtually anything else. We know a gym membership can be expensive, but there are some free and cheap classes on Oxford Street. Every year, Asics hold events in their concept store, and also host the Running Club, which meets up at their store for a weekly run around Hyde Park, so it’s worth asking in store about future events. At Selfridges, there is also the underrated skate park, The Bowl, which offers complimentary sessions for experienced skaters, and cheap 1-2-1 lessons for other levels.
Self-care and clean beauty products
You don’t have to spend a fortune on beauty treatments to practice self-care – there are plenty of products you can pick up on Oxford Street that will help you recreate the spa experience at home. When your skin is a little dull during the winter months, give it a glow with the newly launched Rituals Yozakura Shimmering Body Oil. Scented candles or diffusers from Muji, massage oil from The Body Shop, clean beauty products from the likes of REN, Beauty of Joseon and Innisfree at Boots and Selfridges, or vegan bubble bath from Lush will all help you get nice and relaxed to start the New Year in the right frame of mind. Space NK is a mecca of beauty and wellness this January, shop your favourites and stock up!
Beauty treatments on Oxford Street
If you do fancy splurging on a beauty treatment, there are of course plenty of options here too, to suit all budgets. Some examples that spring to mind: the Rituals Mind Oasis (a full body massage without taking your clothes off thanks to the hydro massage machine, perfect for during your lunch break or as a pit stop during your shopping trip!). Lush Spa (facials, massages, group experiences, baths and more), the Dyson Beauty Lab (for a professional wash and blowdry for just £35), Primark’s Rawr (threading, manicures and more), Ted’s Grooming Room (haircuts, shaving, beard trimming etc) and Pall Mall Barbers. Or, you can kill two birds with one stone and get some makeup and skincare tips while buying beauty products at the beauty counters in John Lewis and Selfridges.
Vegan dining on Oxford Street
Even if you aren’t fully committed to veganism, there are some great plant-based dishes that you’ll love at a few restaurants on Oxford Street. At Market Halls, which specialises in street food from around the world, you’ll find some tasty vegan options including garden pea falafels bowls, mushroom guisado and South Indian sweet potato pancakes at the likes of Le Bab, Breddos Tacos and Gopal’s Corner. Other restaurants that feature tasty plant-based dishes on their menus include Spaghetti House (try the delicious spaghetti al’ pomodoro), Aqua Kyoto (try their plant-based Bento box), Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat (we like the Tofu salad and tom kha udon noodles) and Brasserie of Light (try the Winter vegetable salad and pumpkin tortelloni) to name just a few.
Embracing the outdoors
There’s nothing like a bit of fresh air to clear the mind, and there are plenty of green spaces on Oxford Street where you can walk, sit with a book or even meditate. You’ll know Hyde Park, of course, but if you want to go off the beaten track, try Brown Hart Gardens, with its Grade II-listed terraced garden, Cavendish Square with its circular lawn, Grosvenor Square with its sprawling lawns or Soho Square with its more relaxed atmosphere.
