Vapiano is an innovative European concept serving made-to-order fire roasted pizzas, fresh, house-made pasta and hand tossed gourmet salads. Every dish is complemented with fresh herbs from the restaurant's herb garden.
Good food and a good atmosphere. I love the idea of getting a tab set up as you walk in, makes it easy to enjoy a few nice drinks with dinner.
Pizzas and pasta are tasty. Some of the wine seems on the pricey side.
Most of the staff are superb, although some of them are a bit full of their own importance (yesterday talking to a colleague was more important than serving me).
Overall- good place to meet, eat and drink.
The food is good. If you order a pasta their chefs cook it right in front of you.
The atmosphere does remind me of a corporate canteen however, a bit loud and you gotta find your own table and hope it doesn't get taken whilst you're away from it.
The unique selling point of the restaurant is that they give you an RFID card which acts as your tab.
When you order you tap your card and settle the bill on the way out.
If you order a Pizza you're given a device that buzzes for you to pick it up from the counter as is common in some bars.
Unique seating plan in a fast paced environment. This restaurant has an 'Oyster card system' which comes in handy when friends won't pay for their own meal lol. Staff that served us were lovely.
It tends to be busy when you leave so you have to queue to pay and leave.
Vapiano in a nutshell is a fast food restaurant in the same way a Mercedes is just a car.
The restaurant prides itself on serving food cooked in front of you in a smorgasbord of choice... Carbonara with linguine or spaghetti why not.
The restaurant is well lit to create a fun and fresh environment, portions are large enough to fill you up and the side salad is defiantly a good choice.
The only down side would be that due to the rush of service stations do become messy and plates are not washed to the highest of standards (as I had to pull the chef up on).
But in all of fast service and yummy food is what your after in an informal setting in the centre of town then this is where you would go every time.
Pasta is priced from £6.75 onwards. I ordered a Carbonara at £9.95.
Enter the shop to collect 1 card per person. Grab a menu and stand behind the counter you like to order your food. Be prepared to wait up to 30mins as each plate of Pasta is cooked fresh from scratch.
Food is pretty tasty. I think the interesting part is that you can see the entire cooking process right before your eyes.
