Review: Brunch at Coppa Club

If you’re not familiar with Market Place, it’s an outdoor dining area just behind Miss Selfridge and Urban Outfitters near Oxford Circus. With a variety of restaurants all with terraces, it’s the perfect spot to hangout in summer.

Coppa Club, one of the restaurants in Market Place that stands out with its royal blue awning and frontage. Open early (7.30am) in the week and from 9am on the weekends we came to check out the breakfast/brunch menu.

There’s a small selection of juices and smoothies, each packing a healthy punch. We tried the Matcha green tea, avocado & pineapple juice which was creamy and tropical sweet and the carrot, orange & ginger which was subtly spiced with the ginger – the perfect kick to start your day with.

The menu is varied with the traditional such as eggs Benedict and smashed avo on toast to the unique, watermelon, coconut, yoghurt and lime and super bowl which is quinoa, almonds, alfalfa, avocado, citrus fruits, spinach & seeds.

Keeping it traditional we ordered the SMASHED AVOCADO poached eggs, toast, chilli & lime with kiln smoked salmon.

Centre stage is the eggs, avocado and toast with a generous handful of smoked salmon scattered across the plate along with chili and spring onion. It’s creamy, crunchy and a comforting dish that we’d happily eat every morning.

The second dish was Coppa Club’s BENEDICT served on toasted English muffins with kiln smoked salmon, spinach, eggs & hollandaise.

Golden muffins came topped with juicy spinach and perfectly poached eggs, again the smoked salmon was spread around the dish. Our preference was for the hollandaise sauce on the side, the sauce was smooth and deliciously wrapped up all the ingredients in a rich blanket.

If you’re looking for a laid-back sophisticated place to start your weekend, then Coppa Club comes recommended. With its sun-soaked terrace and banging brunch you’ll be best booking a table when the sun is out to avoid being disappointed.
