John Lewis recently launched its summer campaign, National Treasures ‘celebrating of our favourite things’.
The campaign celebrates the nation’s favourite things, pastimes and quirks shining a spotlight on the best of British life, design and culture. It will include a ‘Summer Season’ series of events and workshops that will be John Lewis’s biggest ever programme of customer activity; more than 1,000 events with some of the nation’s best-loved home-grown brands.
Asking the nation what British summertime means to them and working with British illustrator Paul Thurlby to create a humorous, celebratory, summer campaign that celebrates the nation’s favourite things, pastimes and quirks shining a spotlight on the best of British life, design and culture. From ice creams by the seaside, enjoying tea and cake to afternoons in packed-out parks the illustrations really epitomise the nation’s most treasured quintessential moments, traditions and humour.
The National Treasures campaign will also include a ‘Summer Season’ series of events and workshops that will be John Lewis’s biggest ever programme of customer activity, and will allow customers to see, learn, experience, make and dine, as John Lewis becomes destinations for discovery. With a carefully curated programme of events, including a number of fitness and gardening classes that will be hosted on the Gardening Society rooftop allowing attendees to experience exclusive events whilst enjoying breathtaking views of London’s iconic skyline. What’s more visit the a ‘national treasury’ pop-up shop in store to shop a curated collection of products that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity, charm and character. The full scale greenhouses will be a multisensory experience, brought to life with lifesize national treasures illustrations, exhibiting best-selling products from iconic British brands including Mulberry, Hunter, Dyson, Tom Dixon, Dualit, Wedgwood and Dartington.
A collection of limited edition gifts that celebrate Paul Thurlby’s unique national treasure illustrations will also be available with a selection of illustrated products that include tote bags, tea towels, chocolates and mugs, for the perfect cup of tea.
