Article

Wimbledon, it doesn’t get more quintessentially British than this. Add some fresh strawberries, whipped cream and an ice cold glass of Pimms and you have yourself the ultimate British summertime experience. Whether you’ve managed to score yourself some tickets by Centre Court or you just don’t quite fancy camping out in the early hours for a ticket and plan on making the most of London’s outdoor screenings of the matches… we have a nice little guide to get you Wimbledon ready.

For Stocking Up Your Picnic Basket

What’s Wimbledon without Strawberries and cream, I hear you ask. But folks, let’s not forget about other picnic essentials! Head to Selfridges Food Hall to stock up your picnic basket with tasty chocolate treats, charcuterie, cheese, champagne, exotic fresh fruits and freshly baked goods. If you’re looking for a quick fix, pick up a ready-made hamper with everything you’ll need. Just add a spot of grass in the sun, a view of the tennis and you’re good to go.

For a Bit of Pampering

Hot summer days in the city and busy jam-packed weekends mean we don’t get a lot of time to show ourselves some me-time and much needed TLC during summer months. Pamper yourself and look no further when searching for that effortless blow dry or manicure. Try Duck & Dry in collaboration with Primark, who have set up an express Beauty Studio right in the middle of Primark on Oxford Street. Opt for their Signature Wash & Style or an Express Manicure, all for a very reasonable price too. Looking for something a bit more pampering and luxurious? Head to the Cowshed in Selfridges. Choose from luxury manicures, bespoke body therapies and facials.

If you go crazy over Lush’s environmentally friendly and uplifting ethos then why not soothe your mind, body and soul at their flagship Oxford Street spa. From fully immersive Ayurvedic inspired spa treatments to tailor made 30-minute express massages, you’ll step out feeling refreshed and re-energised for all that Wimbledon fun.

For a Spot of Pimms in the Sun

It’s not Wimbledon season without a refreshingly tasty glass of Pimms, For a spot in the sun, join John Lewis & Partners on one of the largest roof gardens in the city. Although they may not have Pimms on tap, they do have a delectable selection of summer inspired cocktails. Try out their signature cocktail, the Roof Fest London. This cocktail is whizzed up with banana liquor, passion fruit fresh mint and Havana 3 year old rum. Or head to Brown Hart Gardens, located off Duke Street, just a few minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. Bring your picnic blanket, Pimms and nibbles and watch Wimbledon alfresco, open everyday during the tournament.

For Court Side Looks

While, of course, our eyes main focus will be on the Tennis during Wimbledon,  we can also expect to see some serious style inspo around the courts. As some of the worlds most stylish people (previous spectators include Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller, Beyonce and Kate Middleton to ) descend upon the grounds, it makes for a great time to refresh your summer wardrobe and channel your own Centre Court looks. Think classic whites, flowing floral dresses and chic structured garments. Wimbledon whites can be accentuated with statement gold accessories, bright colours and chunky wedges.. Plus, don’t forget to top off your Wimbledon look with a chic pair of shades.
