This hotel takes every measure to go above and beyond for a great experience. Vera from customer relations upgraded our room since we were celebrating a special occasion and had surprises in our room each night. Will absolutely be staying here again our next time through London. Oh and the location is the best. Right by Hyde park and lots of great restaurants as well as the tube to get you where ever you need.

We have just finished a wonderful weekend at the Montcalm for our mini-moon weekend of relaxation immediately after our wedding.

Everything was excellent from arrival with Vera taking care to greet us and ensure things went smoothly.

It is clear that we got special attention for our honeymoon, but that is what you want and that is the mark of a hotel which pays attention to the requests of their customers. We were kindly given a free upgrade to a suite as part of their gift to us.

I had emailed in advance of staying asking if they could perhaps put some flowers into the room so it is a little special for us on arrival and they went above and beyond with some excellent decoration and small touches such as members of staff knowing our names and expecting us.

The location is excellent, right next to Marble Arch, the tube station and also Hyde Park/ Oxford street.

The restaurants are great, especially Hankies which had wonderful Indian cuisine served in a tapas style of small plates. Both restaurants had excellent food and reasonable prices.

Breakfast was excellent. I would suggest going for the full-English and having the excellent omelettes that you can get.

The spa is small but if you want to use the spa, be aware that we never saw more than one other person in there, so the size is mindful of its popularity: a lovely jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and a small pool. The services are very popular, and unfortunately, we did not book far enough in advance to get one of the foot massages, but the spa area itself was relaxing enough.

Thank you to Vera and the team for looking after us!

Great hotel with helpful staff. Location is good. We were upgraded to a junior suite. Clean room and comfortable beds. Bathroom is nice and shower is powerful. Breakfast at club lounge included a good selection of food (eggs, salmon, greens...). Receptionists were quick in sending us whatever we needed. A calm stay in a calm hotel.

Thank you very much for looking after myself and my family last week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at this wonderful hotel.
The facilities and accommodation were outstanding but most of all the friendliness of all the staff was a breath of fresh air.
I have stayed in a number of hotels in London, but I have to say this was the best experiences to date.
We will definitely be booking with you again in the future.

Worst massage I have had for the price

I was very much looking forward to my spa experience at the Montcalm, which we booked months in advance. The hotel was lovely, lunch was delicious, the Spa staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the massage itself was very disappointing. The therapist was very heavy handed, leaning heavily on bones and causing pain. She took no notice of body language when I winced. The massage ended abruptly with no head or face massage, despite the fact that it was meant to be a full body massage. £80 is a lot of money for a massage and I expected a massage to remember, and I will, but for the wrong reasons.

I deducted 2 stars for bad massage, the other 2 were for the tiny pool, which was still nice, but bubbles and light didnt work, and the fact that 1 of the 2 showers was out of order, overflowing water and dirty.

Overall, not the promised premium experience!
