For a roof garden venue with live music, I think the price point is reasonable. You can't discount the cost of this lovely location at Central London. Food choices are limited but quite tasty, beautifully presented with just the right quantity to satisfy my belly. I'd probably hangout here more pre-partying on weekends for an early dinner sunset thing. Of course, make sure the weather is fine.

On one of my visits, I arrived quarter past their opening. No access. Call center said they were still closed but should open "soon". Patiently waited for a bit, but lost my appetite. Maybe next time.

This food selection we got shown in the picture does not taste good. The salad sauce is all salty soya. The beef was hard and has an after taste. The green dish was too spicy and not filling. Best thing here is the atmosphere.

Love it here! Music starts at 2pm on weekends (as far as I’m aware) beautiful setting. So well executed as a beautiful oasis in the middle of Oxford Street- you would never think there was so much chaos below you. Keep an eye out for special events such as singers and musicians as they have a varied line up.
Loads of seating- mixture of picnic benches, benches, bean bags, hanging chairs, booths, huts. Several bars and a beautiful restaurant and a BBQ shack! Such a great way to take a break in the middle of central London.
Simply go up to the top floor of John Lewis and there might be a queue but wait isn’t too long. To avoid a queue and to grab food, you can book ahead!

KIRA THE AGGRESSIVE, CHILDISH WAITRESS. I’ve been four times and it’s always been chaotic but tonight’s experience was unforgivable. I emailed to book a den, had no reply after 5 days, went to book in person and, after a 15 minute wait, secured a booking. A confirmation email stated that we had our den until 7.30. Den was filthy when we arrived. At 7.13 a woman called Kira came to chuck us out. I said just once that we had it until 7.30 and she instantly became aggressive because we weren’t “on the sheet” and ranted without letting me speak again. Kira then went to get her manager. I asked her if she would close the door behind her and she said no. We finished our drinks and left. I’m not some narky customer twisting the facts - this is really what happened and it’s all on CCTV. This is the sort of person John Lewis employs.

Great venue on a sunny day, but the food and drinks were overpriced and the food selection was limited and not recommended. I ordered the aubergine curry which can only be described as inedible; was served up lukewarm and came in an off-putting shade of dingy green. I suggest the cook tastes the food in future before serving, and considers a new recipe as aubergine curry’s can be delicious if cooked properly. If not, I’d limit your visit to drinks only, and enjoy a meal in one of the 00s of great places to eat nearby instead. Hopefully JL will choose much better food vendors next year.
