Visited end of last year and absolutely fell in love with the food. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. We had the Dead Hippie burgers that were amazing. We also had the deep fried mac & cheese bites. Great taste. Made a nice change from fries. It's quite dark when you get in there, but you get used to it. Fantastic decor. Will definitely return.
A memorable and fun restaurant to say the least! Good food, and surprisingly reasonable prices. Check to try and visit at an off peak time. The service was also excellent. I had the vegetarian burger and it was delicious. Also enjoyed the chicken.
Worth a visit to this unique and quite amazing restaurant. Reasons that it hasn't earned a 5 star rating from me is that it we were somewhat crammed in with other customers on a table for four (we went as a pair), although we had an option to wait for a table, this was a bit of an annoyance as others were being seated after us and from what it sounded like, as we were near the door, they didn't have reservations. The staff were incredibly friendly and smiley which really suited the atmosphere of the room. The other star was lost due to a ridiculous habit of the London restaurants we visited adding a 'service charge' onto the receipt and refused to tell us, this is something that came across as cockiness. On the very much brighter side though, the food was delicious and worth it's value, even though the portions were not massive, we certainly left full due to the quality of it. The decor was amazing, graffiti all over the place, but done very tastefully and a rock/funk style music playing in the background made for a unique experience.
Enjoyed a meal at Meatliquor earlier this week whilst away on business. Easy walk up from Covent Garden where we stayed and slightly away from the busy Leicester Square area.
Food was very tasty (went for the Dead Hippie burger with blue cheese fries) and served quickly. As other reviews mention it is a messy affair due to being quite greasy so be prepared to get stuck in with your hands! Only negative comment really is that it is at the pricey end of scale for a burger joint, especially given that the burgers themselves aren't especially big.
That said I really enjoyed the food and would happily visit again when I'm back in the area.
A lovely Burger joint with Americanesque bar interior. Red lighting, basic rustic seating in the form of low and high chairs.
Burgers are available of beef, chicken, vegetarian or vegan options.
We had the chicken fingers, braai chicken wings, cheeseburgers, chili burgers, fries with gravy and cheese, onion rings and slaw. I'd give everything a good 4 stars except the slaw which was average. Our meal for 4 came to £86 and most of us didn't order any drinks so not London's cheapest burger.
