Peru comes to London with LIMA, a new restaurant concept presenting Peruvian cuisine in a contemporary style. The exciting flavours created by Head Chef, Robert Ortiz and Virgilio Martinez (Executive Chef and ranked #4 in the World 50 Best List and #1 in in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list) have won us many happy customers. And while our diners are most important, we have had many favourable reviews from critics and numerous industry awards.Lima Fitzrovia was first awarded a Michelin star in 2013 – the first and only Peruvian restaurant to achieve this.Lunch is served from 12pm - 2.30pm Tuesday to Sunday, dinner is served from 5.30pm - 10.45pm Monday to Saturday and from 5.30pm - 9pm on Sunday.
Came here for my sister's birthday and we had the set menu. A good choice if you're not that familiar with Peruvian food and want to try a variety of dishes. The food was delicious but I did struggle to understand what was being served when the waiter explained the courses, as the restaurant was quite noisy. It was all delicious nonetheless.
We went to try the new Lima Recommends menu. The service was distinctly average, bordering on poor. Our service was just fairly slow, but at least the food was good. The table next to us had long delays and the wrong dishes brought to them. Not the standard you would expect from this calibre of restaurant. If the service improves substantially it would be worth the money, but it is very expensive for the level of service!
The food was delicious and the range on the tasting menu was great. Having said that, my expectations were very high and there was nothing that blew my mind away. We ordered the house red, which was full bodied and went well with the mains. I left with a bill that I was not expecting. The food was as adversed, however the 'house red' was one of the more expensive on the list and definitely not worth £45. Clearly I take some of the responsibility for trusting that the house wine would be the best value on the list, although I feel that the staff should have notified us of this.
Not a single negative aspect. Food is great, flavourful, clearly high quality, and Francesca the waitress is lovely!
Probably a couple of pounds overpriced for some items but hey it's central London, expected, nothing to complain about.
I will definitely be back!
Very tasty food
The food was really good, no doubt about that. However, the price was super high. Compared to what you pay, the food is not good enough, but if you have loads of cash, this place is great
