About us

Tom and Phil met in 2010 whilst working at a Brighton restaurant. Soon after, they bought a small marquee and decided to go it alone serving burgers at festivals and events. After meeting Dorian, Tom moved to Brixton in 2011 and within a few months they’d signed a lease on a tiny unit in Brixton Village. After lots of DIY, furniture making and decorating, the first Honest Burgers opened its doors. With a simple, quality-focused menu the company has not deviated from its original approach — to do one thing, and do it well.

Great Burger. Not that many options,
though. There were maybe 3 or 4 burgers that made up the whole menu to choose from. The burger was smaller than I had imagined it being. The Rosemary fries were my favorite. Beer choices are good, too. It was good for a quick bite.

This applies to the handling of takeaways only. You're sent into the bowels of their establishment to order takeaway and left to stand around until someone finally takes your order. You can see the cooking take place here... And it's not unlike a game of Overcooked.

You have to wait 15 minutes for your order (which is fine), but on this instance the wait was closer to 40 minutes. There wasn't any helpful update from the staff, so the assumption has to be that they saw nothing out of the ordinary about the lengthy wait.

To top it off, everything was cold when I finally tucked in. It's possible this encounter was an anamoly. I'll never know now.

Though the service and food was good, the portion size wasn't!
After spending £40 on a meal for two; I walked out feeling I could have eaten more.
I would rather pay GBK a visit in the future as you spend the same amount of cash and walk out feeling satisfied.

Just left the restaurant. The service was excellent!!! The two waiters that helped me were the nicest I met here in London. The food was absolutely great. And also they emphasize working with fresh local produce which is important. DO NOT MISS!

The place is nice, in a good location.
But the burger was burnt. And the potatoes over fried, so very hard and oily.
For the price I would expect something well cooked. With the other ingredients combination it would be a great burger.
