About us

Five Guys started out in Arlington, Virginia back in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to their young sons: “Start a business or go to college”. The business route won and the Murrell family opened their first burger joint named, simply, Five Guys – after the five brothers. The formula was as uncomplicated as it comes. Burgers and fries – cooked to perfection – and that's it. But what a formula it turned out to be! With handmade fresh roll stamped beef burgers grilled along with fresh-cut fries cooked in pure peanut oil.

It was not much more than OK. When I went there, it was slightly busy so it took a while to prepare my order. The cheeseburger with bacon that ordered was just ok.
You do get a LOT of chips even for the "small" size portion. It's also great that the drinks are re-fill-able with many options!

Great burgers cooked fresh with a short wait. They're cooked in peanut oil if I remember correctly, which adds to the flavour (you may want to check if you have a nut allergy). What more could you want?

Big hit with my two boys (11 and 9) although they couldn't finish their milkshakes. We had fun putting the burger orders together, with the various condiments. The basement had plenty of seating for large groups. A great burger experience in a great location.

We were at Five Guys near to The London Palladium. Needless to say it was very crowded however we soon found an empty table. The wait for the food after ordering wasn't too bad considering the amount of people. Burgers are very good and the french fries are great. Free refills for drinks is good too. Nice touch to have free peanuts in shells (not at the Reading restaurant though).

Burgers are always great, love that you get to choose your toppings! Cajun fries are delicious! Quick, fast and reasonably priced! Great option when have limited time or for just when feeling like a good burger and fries!
