Back in 2002 Andre Blais had a dream – to bring the taste, the style, the soul of his beloved Kansas City barbecue to the UK! Years later, the Bodean’s family of diner-delis goes from strength to strength – the results of a tireless team effort dedicated to delivering Authentic American BBQ.Today, the Bodean’s BBQ team are always out and about making sure that the slow-smoked BBQ, secret rubs and sauce recipes are up to scratch, and the BBQ obsession and attention as seen in KC are kept alive.
A great taste of American BBQ in the heart of Soho. We both got milkshakes (honeycomb and chocolate), which we quite enjoyed. My wife is vegetarian, so she got the mac & cheese and a side salad. She said the salad was fresh and very good. The mac was a large serving (enough for two) and great as well. I got the beef burnt ends, wet, and the ribs. So. Good. We got cornbread for the table. Needless to say, we couldn't finish it all. Upstairs is bright and fun atmosphere. The downstairs has an upscale bar vibe and would be great for larger groups. Prices are fair. Service was incredible - literally the nicest waiter that we've had our entire trip. This would be a regular place for me if I lived in London, or they ever opened up one in the states.
Great food, polite staff and reasonable prices, except for the beer which is on the pricey side to be honest. The ribs are amazing and we were served quickly.
Bodean's automatically add a "voluntary" 12.5% service charge regardless of the number of people served. I'm not a fan of this practice, whatever the percentage, because it presumes that you are happy with your dining experience. You can take it off of course. I didn't, because I was happy with the service we received.
Oh my goodness, this place is BBQ heaven!! We'd done a bit of research on places to eat as we fancied something epic on our day out in London. We picked right!
We absolutely loved our sharing platter of ribs, burnt ends, chicken and pulled pork.
There's an excellent beer menu and the staff were really friendly.
Also, 10 extra points for there being a lovely dog belonging to another customer, in the bar area, called Jean Genie. 😁
Since our arrival the waitress asked us insistently when we would go to order, she threatened to take away the table, even that we had already ordered beers and it had only been 10 minutes since the beginning of the reservation. We ordered, the food was not bad, we enjoyed the birthday cake and again the waitress with an aggressive tone asking if we could go. Thep place was empty, we went at lunchtime. in the end we paid £400, but we will never repeat the lived atmosphere. I do not recommend it. absolutely not
While the service was decent, I found my baby back ribs (half rack) a tad on the dry side. The meat came off the bone easily enough but the taste was lacking. I would suggest getting the Jacob’s ladder beef rib instead because it was much juicier and flavourful upon tasting my friend’s.
