About us

Blanchette Soho is a French bistro serving simple, classic and inventive French food. Its concept is based on the idea of sharing, from smaller snacks such as Croque Monsieur, Crispy frog’s legs, charcuterie and cheese, to larger traditional dishes with a Blanchette twist. A fine selection of drinks, including a variety of French wines and classic cocktails, are also available.Founded in 2013 by brothers Maxime, Malik and Yannis, the quintessentially Parisian restaurant is named after their mother. Maxime and Yannis have, between them, almost 30 years of experience in hospitality having worked in top restaurants across London, New York and Paris.Music also plays a big part at Blanchette, with Malik, founder of sound design company La Musique du Faubourg, providing the soundtrack to ensure a buzzing and convivial atmosphere.Private dining is available in The Jungle Room, Blanchette's dedicated space for private parties. It accomodates up to 14 people and it features a stunning hand-painted rain forest themed mural by artist Aldo Gigli.

I came in with high expectations after a great dining experience at Blanchette brick lane and left massively disappointed. Overly packed with tables, so I had my elbow knocked every 10 minutes. We only got served after asking ~15 minutes after being seated. Food came out 1 dish at a time which was not at all conducive to the "sharing style" of the restaurant. The waitress could not hear or understand us as we ordered. Very poor overall. They need to get more staff and better train them. They have mistaken pretentiousness for quality and really missed the mark, coming off as rude. Do yourself a favour and visit the brick lane restaurant instead.

Great quality French style tapas. The service was attentive. Best dishes were the duck and ratatouille. However, you're a French restaurant, you can't charge for bread. All of those dishes, I would have loved some bread for the excess sauce because the flavours were great especially mussels. (five stars otherwise)
