Shakespeare Refashioned at Selfridges

On the 400th anniversary of the death of the world’s most famous playwright, Selfridges launches ‘Shakespeare Refashioned’ with help from critically-acclaimed theatre company The Faction, RADA and other partners to bring you its most ambitious campaign to date.

Expect bespoke window creations by leading fashion designers, special collaborations and – a world’s first for a department store – the launch of a fully-fledged theatre complete with theatrical workshops open to the public, rare access to rehearsals and the staging of a new version of one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies, Much Ado About Nothing.

The ReFASHIONed Theatre

The intimate 100-seat auditorium where an actor’s every move and sigh is visible and audible is on LG floor and is in partnership with LG. Take a seat within Selfridges’ theatre space, and enjoy rare access to the rehearsals and staging of a new version of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ by exciting British theatre company The Faction.

The unique theatrical showcases will deliver a behind-the-scenes insight into the transformation of a play from read-through to opening night, offering you the chance to watch the rehearsal process up close before booking tickets to the finished production. Partner and makeup experts MAC will also be allowing customers to see first-hand how on-stage characters are created.  To find out more and book tickets, visit HERE.

RADA Masterclasses

RADA – the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art – will also be joining the reFASHIONed theatre with a two-week residency teaching customers stage-craft workshops and masterclasses, including acting training, audition and feedback workshops, as well as an introduction to dance and stage combat.
