Blanchette Soho is a French bistro serving simple, classic and inventive French food. Its concept is based on the idea of sharing, from smaller snacks such as Croque Monsieur, Crispy frog’s legs, charcuterie and cheese, to larger traditional dishes with a Blanchette twist. A fine selection of drinks, including a variety of French wines and classic cocktails, are also available.Founded in 2013 by brothers Maxime, Malik and Yannis, the quintessentially Parisian restaurant is named after their mother. Maxime and Yannis have, between them, almost 30 years of experience in hospitality having worked in top restaurants across London, New York and Paris.Music also plays a big part at Blanchette, with Malik, founder of sound design company La Musique du Faubourg, providing the soundtrack to ensure a buzzing and convivial atmosphere.Private dining is available in The Jungle Room, Blanchette's dedicated space for private parties. It accomodates up to 14 people and it features a stunning hand-painted rain forest themed mural by artist Aldo Gigli.
Disappointing. Food was average - the beef was the best and even that was salty and soaked in oil. Ridiculously overpriced for the size of the plates - £30 for 2 giant prawns!! Service was lovely & accommodating but slow. But the highlight was definitely when the waitress informed us that we were 49p short on the OPTIONAL service charge for a bill of OVER £400...
Delicious and very well presented food, great ambience and friendly staff. The only letdowns were that the mains arrived in three different stages (there were only four of us), the wine didn't arrive with the food and they made a couple of mistakes with our drink orders. Nevertheless, these were cheerfully rectified and all in all it was a great evening.
Good assortment of small plate dishes. Nice atmosphere. Though they should hire some French and get rid of the British staff...
Nice food, but too expensive for the quality.
They define themselves as French tapas, so if you're hungry you should maybe go somewhere else unless you're ok with paying £40 per person.
The dishes are quite average and some dishes were not even warm.
The waitresses were nice. Although they added a drink that they didn't end up bringing us.
I'm basing my review on my expectations. It looked pretty good on the reviews, ranked as one of the most romantic restaurants in london, but I was not surprised, just by the bill. Disappointed :(
Food was good and ambiance was romantic but I'm pretty sick of the small plates scam
