Guests will be inspired in Artesian, named after the original 360ft-deep well under the hotel, and bestowed with the coveted ‘World’s Best Bar’ accolade, creating classic and innovative cocktails. Artesian’s lunch menu is creative and elevates the bar food and drinks out of the ordinary and into the gourmet. In the evening guests may enjoy SNAX, a tapas-style concept, inspired by Artesian cocktails.
Great cocktail bar, quite during the day but very busy at night. The staff are friendly and the cocktail menu is fantastic; great flavours with a show (they'll do anything well, but I highly recommend ordering the unique offerings off their menu). Free bar snacks and tasters of other cocktails from the menu too. The only thing to note is this isn't a cheap bar. Drinks run at about £20.50/cocktail plus service, so a round can quickly find you remortgaging your house. Still, worth a trip for the experience even for the less well heeled cocktail lover.
To me Artesian is where it all started! Many years ago I remember trying one of my first amazing cocktails and by cocktails i don't mean a cosmopolitan or any other basic cocktails! By cocktails i mean not only the tasty flavours mixing but the glassware and the anecdotes too!
Well you will not be disappointed! The ambiance was relax with good low table seating where you have a nice view of the beautiful bar structure and chandeliers and the bartenders in action!
The cocktails list is presented on a wood piece!
The list is well balance with choices for everyone.. the gin lovers.. the vodka lovers and all the other lovers :)
Some come served in gold bars.. some with a marriage proposal and many other cool glassware! The service was professional and friendly with a tad of five stars hotel stiffness but in a good way!
Go! Go! Go
Heard that this was one of the world's top bars--have to say that I disagree. I'm happy to pay extra for a really fantastic drink (especially if it's one of the world's best), but the drink was average at best. Although the presentation was cool (mine arrived in a box filled with light, my friend's in a giant gold ant), it didn't ultimately matter because the drinks didn't back it up. Definitely not worth £18 (plus automatic gratuity) per drink.
Ambience was not fantastic either and service was atrocious. No waiters every came by our table to see if we wanted another drink. It took twenty minutes to flag down a waiter to get a bill and another fifteen to flag another one down so that we could pay. Not worth it.
I thought the place itself was lovely and had a great vibe. The staff were attentive, but the cocktail list was confusing (could not tel which were alcoholic and which not) and we had to ask what the ingredients were. We settled on one that came in a box with smoke (make a wish before you open it!) And mine was a very small pottery sea urchin. Smallest cocktail ever - I initially though it was a shot to go with my cocktail. It did not taste nice. However when we were leaving I did tell them and she brought over 2 little alcoholic slush cocktails so their service was certainly good. Pleased we went but I don't think I would go again.
A bit manufactured, toppy prices and rather forced, but if you like cocktails, want to make an impression, then this should be on your list. Ranges from calm and refined to mad crush. Just luck. Staff are proficient and friendly.
